Riwaka's powerful grapefruit characters are its main claim to fame. This variety has higher than average oil content, particularly compared to its low alpha acids, lending itself to highly flavoursome beers without producing excess bittering. Very well suited to any hoppy beer variety where a big citrus hit is desired without a heavy bitterness.
